Bible Reading Today: John 11, Luke 17:11-18:14

John 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

I've heard many great sermons about Lazarus, and I think his story is definitely worth discussing whenever it is part of the reading! One thing I enjoy about this story is that it wasn't just enough for Lazarus to escape the grave...he needed to change out of his graveclothes as well so he could truly be set free! Jesus told the people to loose him & let him go! Sometimes, we come to Jesus in regret, but we don't truly repent. In our regret, we seek a way out of the grave, but we are still bound by deep-rooted desire to go back to the same things that got us into that "grave situation" in the first place! So, we must also repent & remove the graveclothes too! We need to release the grip that sin & death have upon us completely, so we never return to the grave! We don't want to be dressed for death; we want to be dressed for eternal life! We need to be both found and unbound by Jesus! Both steps are crucial in being truly set free!

Acts 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
