Friend or Foe?

Based on Psalms 54-56, Romans 3

"For it was not an enemy that reproached me; Then I could have born it: Neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; Then I would have hid myself from him: But it was thou, a man mine equal, My guide, and mine acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, And walked unto the house of God in company." Psalm 55:12‭-‬14

Unfortunately, betrayal is real. It happens. Sometimes the worst hurts come from the people closest to us. It hurts most because we don't expect it. David went through this very same thing, with many people he loved & respected...but through it all, he found out one thing...GOD NEVER BETRAYS!

"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22

We can trust our God, and He will never abuse that trust! He will just give us more reason to trust in Him (especially because this world gives us more & more reason not to!) That doesn't mean we don't love people, even our enemies, but none can love or help us like our God!

"What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me." Psalm 56:3‭-‬4

Don't fear! Don't be frustrated because of a fleshly friend, who did not have a Spiritual mindset when they hurt you! It also may have been on accident! God's Word holds our recovery! Run into His shelter & embrace. He, of all people, knows how to take our pain away...

"God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, And mightest overcome when thou art judged."

Romans 3:4

God is true, and all of us are human. We make mistakes. We have faults. We hurt feelings. The more we let God work in us, the more we can turn the other cheek when a friend or foe hurts us. The more we realize...Jesus is all we need! And the more we pray for others, the more we'll see a change for the better!
