From Fail to Faith
Based on Lamentations 3-5, Hebrews 10:19-39
"It is of the LORD 's mercies that we are not consumed, Because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; Therefore will I hope in him." Lamentations 3:22-24
We can think of many reasons that we need The Lord's help...but what's more difficult is understanding the faith & love He gives us, even when we don't deserve it. We never really DESERVE it, but some times we fail Him more than others. Sometimes, we get OURSELVES in a rut or bad situation, and we need His help to get out...it wasn't something out of our control...we could have prevented it...and here we are, dragging our feet to pray once again, ashamed at that fail...
"Let us search and try our ways, And turn again to the LORD." Lamentations 3:40
Thankfully, the Bible encourages us to examine the situation. Search & try our ways. FACE IT. OWN UP TO IT...and turn AGAIN to The Lord! Be REAL with God about what happened (because we know He already knows!). He just wants us to turn again to HIM. Don't turn to the bad habits or unprofitable advice...turn to JESUS, again & again!
"I called upon thy name, O LORD, Out of the low dungeon. Thou hast heard my voice: Hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry." Lamentations 3:55-56
Even at our lowest, we can go from fail to FAITH! We can recognize His hand has been upon us so many times, and we can ask for it again! GREAT is His faithfulness!
"As for us, our eyes as yet failed For our vain help: In our watching we have watched For a nation that could not save us." Lamentations 4:17
Our nation is an unreliable, scary place right now. We are entering into uncertain territory. But God changes not! He is faithful even through the debris of a crumbling world. He is our ONLY Hope & Solution!
"let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10:22
"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)" Hebrews 10:23
Hold onto the profession of faith without wavering! Be cleansed inside & out through a purging repentance process & a beautiful baptism, immersed beneath the waters & Blood of Jesus, rising again in faith instead of failure! Then, we receive His refreshing Spirit, which allows us to be even more equipped to make faithful, victorious decisions!
