From Twig to Tree
Bible Reading 8/31: Ezekiel 16-17
Ezekiel 17:23 In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
It would be really cool to skip a few steps on the path of progress...to not have to put in so much practice, time & effort to see success...to see something go "from twig to tree" overnight, for example. But what would the mountaintop be without the adventure? We are never usually satisfied with "someday." And that's okay! As humans, we have the innate desire to do it now. To accomplish it now. To check it off the list now. So, put all that effort & desire into one step. Then another step. Then another step! God never wants us to do nothing, even in the waiting. But after we do what we can do, we need to trust God to do what only HE can. He will get us there. We will get from twig to tree...and oh, what a story it will be!
