Full of Emptiness

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Lamentations 1-2, Hebrews 10:1-18

"How doth the city sit solitary, That was full of people! How is she become as a widow! She that was great among the nations, And princess among the provinces, How is she become tributary!"

Lamentations 1:1

Jeremiah laments for Israel, once a thriving city, now (in his time) so broken down & desolate...in recent years, it's seemed this way to us as well...either eerie quietness in the streets, or extreme lashing out & rioting...either way, there is emptiness...one is emptiness of the earth, void of people, and the other is emptiness in the hearts of people, which cause the riots & attacks. In both cases, there's starvation & hunger for God!

"Her gates are sunk into the ground; He hath destroyed and broken her bars: Her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: The law is no more; Her prophets also find No vision from the LORD." Lamentations 2:9

Sinking. Sulking. Destruction. Brokenness. The law no more...our country is no stranger to lawlessness today. It's hard to find a vision for a better world today...but if we seek that vision in a world full of emptiness, we will never find it. We need to seek fulfillment in Jesus! He is everlasting! Never-ending! And if we come to Him in emptiness, He will pour into us the refreshing new life we need!

"This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, And in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 10:16‭-‬17

Instead of being full of emptiness of God, we will be full of emptiness of the world! The world will no longer hold us captive to trouble! Our faith & trust will be placed in God. When we repent, we empty. When we are baptized, we are washed. When we receive the Holy Ghost, we are renewed & REVIVED! Empty out the world & fill up on GOD!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
