Gaining Access
Bible Reading Today: John 2-4
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
To unlock a certain level of a game, you have to gain access by doing the right tasks and successfully gaining victory over the other levels. To gain access to a certain floor of a hospital, staff members need to know a code. Why do these barriers exist in different realms of life? Simply because something special lies beyond. Special information. A special reward. Something which requires previous work, effort, education & knowledge to be trustworthy of having that type of access. Why should Heaven be any different? These barriers are not there to say, "We don't want you here." They are there to say, "We want to make sure you want to be here as much as God already wants you here." If we are willing to accept the boundaries presented in different areas of our lives, and we understand the work it takes to gain access beyond, then we should understand the greatest special reward of Heaven & spending eternity with Jesus! This born again experience of water baptism & Spirit baptism (receiving the Holy Ghost) and living a repentant, holy life allows us to gain access to Heaven! If The Lord lays it out this clearly, why don't we take hold of it? Let's gain access to the excess of all God's goodness!
