Gatekeepers

Reading of the Day: 1 Chronicles 8-10

1 Chronicles 9:23: So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the Lord, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.

In these next listings of the children of Israel, we see some of the responsibilities they had. We see who were in charge of the different services, preparing the materials used for cleansing & sacrifice in the temple, and even the singers. Another group that was listed were the gatekeepers. One might think that this one could be left un-said. They are just gatekeepers, right? But every person, every job, has a very significant reason & purpose! A gatekeeper is not just standing around...they are put there for protection! They are to be watchful! Every ministry is important, and it is never a good idea to think less of your ministry in comparison to someone else: 2 Corinthians 10:12: "For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise." If God called us to it, we must humbly walk in it & own it! Think about it-before we open our hearts to Christ, we are cryptkeepers. We are just tending a grave until it's time to live in it! But in Christ, we can be gatekeepers! We can defend the gates of our hearts with The Word of God, repenting & being baptized in His Name & filled with the Holy Ghost! We are just here until eternal life with Him-no more tending the grave: Psalms 84:10: "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness." So next time we think our efforts for The Lord seem insignificant, remember that God thought it was important to list out each & every one of these responsibilities! Yours matters too! God sees you, even standing in the gates!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
