God of Everything

Based on Exodus 4-6

"And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:" Exodus 4:2‭-‬4

Moses was overwhelmed by the task God had asked of him. Moses knew God was great & mighty, but he didn't understand how God would use HIM to do this..."how could a God like that, work through someone like me??" He must have thought...so God had to remind Moses that He is God of everything-even us. We are not "gods" of ourselves, unless we don't accept & allow the power of God to work through us. In his own power, Moses would fail the mission. But with God's, He would prevail! God showed Moses that He is not only the God of the things he possessed (the staff in his hand), but also the God of the hand that held the staff!

"And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow. And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh." Exodus 4:6‭-‬7

God gives & takes away. He has control of what we possess, and that includes our bodies! He wants to be God of our entire lives! Even after these signs, Moses had trouble believing God could use his tongue to speak to Pharaoh...and God did get angry, because it showed that even his own people could be just as unbelieving as the Egyptians. But God had mercy & grace on Moses and said Aaron would speak for him. God always makes a way; He is the God of EVERYTHING!

"and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians." Exodus 6:7

Whether we surrender control to Him or not, He has the final say! Which side do we want to be standing on? Do we want to be standing under the heavy weights of the burdens of this world, or do we want to be standing victoriously, free from bondage, under the power of God?
