God's Intervention
Based on Nehemiah 1-3, Acts 2:1-21
"and a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me." Nehemiah 2:8
From the Old to the New Testament, God's Word is full of His Divine intervention in the lives of His people! Those who chose to listen & follow God were miraculously protected, helped & guided along the way! This is exactly what God wants to do in our lives today! God is real, active & desires a closeness with each one of us. He wants to see us prosper as our souls prosper (3 John 1:2). Nehemiah turned to God every step of the way with his burden to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and he couldn't help but claim & see God's good Hand upon it all!
"Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king's words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work." Nehemiah 2:18
Nehemiah encouraged those at Jerusalem because he told them of God's Hand upon all he was doing. God even interfered in the king's decision to let him go, and not only that...the king also supplied them with all they needed to complete the job! Talk about Divine Intervention!
"Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God." Acts 2:11
The greatest act of Divine Intervention is found in...Acts! When God poured out His Spirit on the day of Pentecost, He breathed a new heavenly language into His people, allowing them to speak in languages which drew in the crowds around them. The people were astonished that, although they were foreigners, they could understand what these Galilaens were saying! They were all speaking of the wonderful works of God in their own languages! God has a mission to reach every soul, and to show how much He loves us & wants to be close to our hearts...no better way to have that connection than receiving the Holy Ghost! When that new language breaks forth, it is a sign of the greatest Divine Intervention, and one which will lead us in the ascension to Heaven one day!
