God's Power
Based on Jeremiah 51-52, Psalm 119
"15: He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. 16: When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures." Jeremiah 51:15-16.
"21: Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments." Psalm 119:21.
By God's power, the world is created, formed & maintained. Also by His power, things & people are brought down from their high places. God has the power to do both, to keep things in balance! We should never let pride place us in a position where we think God is not needed or important! His power exceeds anything we are capable of anyway!
God is in the business of using His power both to build & to break. We are the most pliable & usable when we allow ourselves to be broken, rather than when we are in a state of pride.
"20: Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;" Jeremiah 51:20.
It seems like a harsh thing to do, but God's power & presence must be felt by all. Some openly accept God into their lives, but others have to be broken down & pulled away from their status positions in order to realize Who is really on the throne! We sometimes need to be humbled under His power, but He always has a plan to raise us up again!
"31: And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison. 32: And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon," Jeremiah 52:31-32.
God sent a reason for the king of Judah to lift his head again! He used the next king of Babylon to set the king of Judah's throne above others! Only God's power can do that!! He always has good plans for us...but sometimes it's easier to see them from the low places, rather than the high places!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
