Going Forward

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Philippians 3-4, Proverbs 16

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:13‭-‬14.

Some days, I feel like I have all the energy & motivation in the world to move forward & accomplish the tasks at hand. Other times, I really need to pray & "pep talk" myself to get going! Thankfully, God's Word constantly provides the encouragement we need to go forward...to forget the things behind & reach for the things before, as the Scripture states. God not only tells us we can do it, but in fervent prayer, we can obtain the energy we need as well! Also, not only will we be able to do the everyday things, but the extraordinary things God has called us to do for His Kingdom!

"(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)" Philippians 3:18‭-‬19.

We need to walk forward WITH GOD, NOT WITHOUT! There is a way to be "busy" without being "productive," which means we really aren't making progress & moving forward. As the Scripture states, our end will be destruction if that's the case! The true way to move forward in life is to have our eyes set as far as Heaven, not stopping short in the earth!

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you." Philippians 4:8-9.

How hard is it to go forward when all you can focus on is the negative? That's why we must focus on these above-listed things! The things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely etc.! We need to take the Truth we have learned and DO IT, PRACTICE IT, PERFORM IT & continue to PERFECT IT as best we can in our lives! "And the God of peace shall be with us!" He will help us to get ourselves up & get moving, and we will have peace about it!

"A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps." Proverbs 16:9.

Let's rely on God to get our feet moving in the right direction, in Jesus' Name!!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
