Growth of the Church

Based on Romans 16, Psalm 30

"Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness." Psalms 30:4.

As saints, we are all called to sing together, giving thanks in remembrance of His holiness. What better way to do that than to be at church together! Paul was talking to and encouraging the different groups which were forming into churches at that time. He also greeted several individual saints whom he knew personally. He always checked in to encourage the people. This is why church in the Truth is so important-I guess you could consider it the first support group (and best one)!

"Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles."
Romans 16:3‭-‬4.

Paul brought the Truth to so many people who carried on that same burden, and that's when churches were born! He gives the example of Aquila & Priscilla, who dedicated their lives to this great work. He also acknowledges all the churches of the Gentiles. The work Paul started was bigger than him, because a church is meant to include everyone...including YOU, Moms!

"Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me." Romans 16:7.

Paul also acknowledges those who were not only persecuted as he was, but who were in Christ before him. Paul was doing an excellent job listening to God's calling upon his life, but that's mostly because he stayed humble & remembered all of these others who made the growth of the church possible as well.

...And of course you can't grow a church as the Body of Christ with the offense we previously discussed:

"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple." Romans 16:17‭-‬18.

True church growth comes by unity & not division! In studying the lessons of Paul & all the things God put upon his heart to say, we really can know when we are in the right church!

I have to say, our church has been a place where I've seen this same unity of people. There are not many places out there which will tell ya the Truth AND treat you like family! "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:" Romans 16:25‭-‬26.

The Truth had finally been fully revealed & manifested through Jesus! The prophets of old spoke about it, and the New Testament apostles grew churches because of it! And remember, the exciting thing is that God's True church was designed with YOU in mind!
