Heaven Bound!

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Exodus 21-22, Matthew 19

What's the difference between a slave & a servant? A slave is forced to serve, but a servant serves out of a willing heart! One is force-bound, the other is free-bound! We all must be willing servants of Christ-bound to the freedom we have in Him, all the way to Heaven!

"If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing." Exodus 21:2.

Servants had a choice to be free of their masters, but some decided stay, especially if they had a family & built their lives there. These servants must have been treated fairly, like a normal job, or else...why would they stay?

"And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever." Exodus 21:5‭-‬6.

Everything God establishes is just & good, especially when we decide to abide under His authority & serve Him! He provides for us as a good & loving Master. He gives us true freedom, because it extends beyond this world, to Heaven in eternity! The Bible says we will always serve something or someone, and we cannot serve 2 masters (Matthew 6:24)...and there's none better than Jesus! If we are going to be bound servants to anything, let's be bound to Jesus! Let's be Heaven bound!!

"And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so." Matthew 19:5-8.

God never wants the marriage covenant we have with Him to end! It's a promise of eternal love! We must not only agree with it...we must be bound to it! Dedication without persuasion! Once this decision is made final in our hearts & minds, the destination will be glorious!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
