His Loving Attributes
Based on Song of Solomon 4-5, Galatians 3
"Thou art all fair, my love; There is no spot in thee." Song of Solomon 4:7
Even the Old Testament can paint a picture of Jesus...so many things spoken in these couple chapters of Song of Solomon describe attributes of Jesus which we see when He comes on the scene in the New Testament! That's because Jesus is God, He doesn't change, and He always loves us! He is fair...not only in purity and beauty, but in His judgments!
"A fountain of gardens, A well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon."
Song of Solomon 4:15
This is comparable to John 7:38 in the New Testament which speaks of rivers of living water flowing from the belly! When we receive His Spirit, that's exactly what happens! He is the well which makes us never thirst again, because with His Spirit, that well flows from within us, with evidence of speaking in new tongues! It Scriptural, salvational & simply beautiful!
"His mouth is most sweet: Yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem." Song of Solomon 5:16
Jesus doesn't speak bitter things to us. He speaks life & hope! Even if the Truth may hurt at times, but "Faithful are the wounds of a friend; But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." Proverbs 27:6. So thankful for His faithful, Truthful & loving attributes!
"that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:14
Here is a beautiful description of the marriage between Old & New Testament, and between us & Jesus: when we have faith to take the steps necessary for our salvation, just as Abraham did what was required of him, we will receive that same promise of all our generations being saved!
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." Acts 2:38-39
