Hold onto The Rock!

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Deuteronomy 32-34, Mark 15:26-47

"He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." Deuteronomy 32:4.

Throughout this last song of Moses before his death, he used many references to The Lord as our Rock. He is The Rock unbreakable when we are crumbling under the weights of life! He is the Firm Rock when we need that answer of TRUTH! He is unmovable when our world is changing at rapid pace! There are so many endless reasons & references to GOD OUR ROCK! And they always bring us hope, stability & comfort!

"For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:" Deuteronomy 32:31‭-‬32.

Our Rock can do what a little rock or pebble can't! Think about it, have we trusted in The Rock, or just a rock? Someone made without hands, or something formed by our own imaginations, our own building codes...is it up to God's code? Do we put more faith & trust in our little strength instead of God's ultimate strength & power? Something to consider!

"And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection."
Deuteronomy 32:37‭-‬38.

Let me assure you: just any old rock won't rise to the occasion like that of our God, The Rock! Our rocks can be anything from habits, to addictions, to our own routines, to worshipping our wants instead of God's desires, to just about anything! Let's kick over the little rocks & make room for THE ROCK, THE CORNERSTONE!

"And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God." Mark 15:37‭-‬39.

Even in death, Jesus was the STRONGEST ROCK, OUR GOD! The veil was torn! We need to tear down every little rock which clutters the foundation for The Rock to take His righteous & rightful place in our lives! PUT THE CORNERSTONE ON THE THRONE OF YOUR HEART!

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
