Hollow, or Hallowed?

Reading of the Day: Exodus 38-40

Exodus 40:9: And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.

As we have seen in the previous post, so much went into the preparation of the tabernacle. There were so many boards, sockets, fillets, and other such items which would be interesting to look up & see what they actually looked like! It was a beautiful work-and quite the work it was! It required all the help, skills & talents of every family. It was a united effort to prepare a place where God would meet with them. And although all these assorted things were required, it was not those things themselves which made the tabernacle a special place-it was the anointing! The creation of this sacred place was not complete once the hammers were put down, so to speak...it could not be complete in itself. It needed to be anointed to be holy unto The Lord! And our hearts are the most special & sacred tabernacle for The Lord to dwell, and we ourselves are not complete without the anointing either! We can't just present ourselves to God without preparing ourselves for Him. Just like the previous post, our hearts need to be willing & ready. We could position ourselves in a church building, but our hearts could be far away from God at the same time! Moses needed to be sure that the tabernacle was a worthy & ready place for God to abide...the whole place would have been a hollow shell if the anointing of God did not make it a hallowed, anointed atmosphere! The anointing allowed the presence of God to fill that beautiful place, instead of leaving it empty. It could not have been a masterpiece without The Master! This doesn't mean we must be perfect before we call on God...in fact, it's just the opposite! It's the admission that we need Him to be perfected through repentance! Let's invite the Holy Ghost into our hearts! Let's not stay hollow & empty! Let's be anointed, hallowed & ready for God to work through us like never before in Jesus' Name!
