If it had not been The Lord...
Based on Psalms 123-125, 1 Corinthians 10:1-18
"If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: Then they had swallowed us up quick, When their wrath was kindled against us: Then the waters had overwhelmed us, The stream had gone over our soul:" Psalm 124:1-4
Many times we look back over our lives & say "If it had not been The Lord, I wouldn't be standing here today..." Even before getting more committed on my walk with God, I can see many times God protected me & helped me get to the path I'm on today! For example, when I was about 2 or 3 years old, I was climbing on a dresser and it fell. Somehow, I remember myself being on the other side of the room, unharmed, and my Mom ran in and was astonished that I wasn't crushed! Thank you Jesus...hopefully I was at least a LITTLE more careful since then! God's Hand is everywhere if we look!
"Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth." Psalm 124:8
No one is capable of doing what Jesus can do! He made Heaven & earth, so of course He can help us in our time of need!
"As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, So the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever."
Psalm 125:2
He is all around us! Jonah figured out he could not hide from God-and neither can we! Our troubles are not a secret to Him...there are many times God intervenes without us praying about it...so think about how much He will intervene when we purposefully pray!
"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
1 Corinthians 10:12-13
God never gives us more than we can handle...and His way of escape is getting closer to Him through the process of it all! Some of our greatest struggles become our greatest triumphs if, as we grow, we get closer to God and recognize His Hand upon us in every situation! So let's keep thinking, "If it had not been The Lord, then who?" And, "If it will not be The Lord the next time, then who?" JESUS IS THE ONLY ANSWER!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
