Inheritance is Coming!
Based on Numbers 26-28
"To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him." Numbers 26:54.
The generation of Israelites who'd be entering into the promised land and out of the wilderness were on the brink of receiving their promise! God was preparing Moses for his final days in leadership & life, and He was preparing the way for a new leader who would be responsible for the people & daily sacrifices. The inheritance could not come without those two things: a new leader, and new willingness to sacrifice!
When we expect something, it's hard to wait. It's hard to put in work to achieve it. But when we do, we are more prepared! This inheritance wasn't just a gift placed in their lap. It was land. It required work, order & a trust in God!
So, Moses asked God to raise up a leader after him:
"Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd." Numbers 27:17.
Our leaders are shepherds! Our Pastor today is the greatest example of this. Just as Moses wanted the people of God to have structure, so does our Pastor!
Think about it: even a place meant for fun, like an amusement park, requires leadership & sacrifice of others in order to keep it an orderly place to be in. So obviously something as precious as God's inheritance requires that too! So God chose Joshua:
"And the Lord said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him; And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight. And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient." Numbers 27:18-20.
Remember the last post about honor? Well along with inheritance, it can pass down! That honor & respect as a leader passed to Joshua after Moses. Again, it wasn't just a random choice. Joshua gave the good report with Caleb. Joshua showed himself approved!
Joshua would have a big job on his hands, but it wouldn't be without the help & direction of God! And he will need it! Earlier in chapter 26, it lists all the families & tribes. There were many people which Joshua would lead, and it most definitely would require good leadership & sacrifice!
"After this manner ye shall offer daily, throughout the seven days, the meat of the sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord: it shall be offered beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering." Numbers 28:24.
The inheritance was most definitely was awaited for a long time, but again, it was an inheritance of responsibility just as much as a promise & blessing. Everyone still had their jobs to do. Everyone still held purpose. And with the right leader with the right attitude toward sacrifice, it would be achieved!
Let's be responsible with our blessings, especially the blessings of our children, j

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
