It's been long enough!

Based on Deuteronomy 1-3, Mark 10:32-52

We can only handle certain things for so long...honestly, we weren't meant to stay in one place forever...our God is a God of growth, change, transformation, refreshment & REVIVAL! And that can't happen by repetition, it can only happen by a trusting relationship with Him!

"The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates. Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them." Deuteronomy 1:6‭-‬8.

Moses told the Israelites, "You've been here long enough!" It was time to go to the promised land! But remember, the older generation had been murmuring against this growth & change. They did not have child-like faith anymore. They were perfectly comfortable staying put, no longer ready to out-grow and change for God! The promised land didn't look like the paradise or utopia they dreamed about...yet. It had big giants & big cities!

"Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there. Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them. The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;" Deuteronomy 1:28‭-‬30.

...BUT WE HAVE A BIG GOD!! And He is THE ONLY GOD! The One who will fight for us and make us seem bigger than our enemies! BUT WE HAVE TO BE WILLING TO GROW!

"Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward." Deuteronomy 2:3.

"And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way." Mark 10:49‭-‬52.

Imagine if this blind man stayed put, saying, "Eh, I'm not feeling up to the chase. Too many people want Jesus' attention. Who am I, anyway?" Instead, he knew he had been in that position long enough! He finally out-grew his problem & matured. He needed Jesus! WE ALL NEED JESUS! He is our God. He is our Hope. He will fight for us when we choose to take that leap of faith into His embrace! We will always be missing something if we don't go when we are called. Only JESUS, OUR GOD, MAKES US WHOLE!!!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
