Jesus, King Over All

Based on Mark 15-16, Psalm 65

"O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away." Psalms 65:2‭-‬3.

All flesh, all people, shall come to Jesus! When we come in the flesh, He purges our transgressions from us, and we experience new life in the water & Spirit through new birth-all made possible through His sacrifice for us. Through His death on the cross and the many things which took place during that time, Jesus showed He was not just King of the Jews, but King over ALL!

"And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? And they cried out again, Crucify him. Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him." Mark 15:12‭-‬14.

The Jews accused Jesus of blasphemy. They could not accept Him as their King, although earlier Jesus confirms it through Pilate's interrogation:

"And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it. And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing."
Mark 15:2‭-‬3.

Jesus answered to Pilate, but did not defend Himself in front of the Jews; His own people! These chapters show just how much all people are God's people. The ones who should have understood Jesus most, did not...but He still says He is their King. He loves them, and He loves all!

The soldiers mocked Jesus as a King, and when Jesus had been crucified, the description read:

"And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
Mark 15:26.

Many realized who Jesus was during the last few moments on the cross...

"And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God." Mark 15:39.

The centurion was not a Jew, yet beheld Jesus for who He was, and is today! He conquered death, hell & the grave! The vail was torn for all to have access to Him.

When He rises again and appears to all the disciples, He gives them the Great Commission:

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Mark 16:15‭-‬18.

This message is for everyone! Jesus is for everyone! HE IS KING OVER ALL!
