Jesus Lives!

Based on Mark 13-14

These couple chapters of Mark hit some very sobering points...they show us what the end of times will look like, then they go into the last supper & the trials leading to Jesus' death. While we could be sad or troubled at the words Jesus spoke, we can also put our focus on the fact that today, Jesus lives! Since He is The Word made flesh, He will never pass away:

"Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." Mark 13:31.

Everything Jesus spoke and did never really ended, even while He was on the cross! But there are some very important questions to keep in mind...will we let Him live in us? Will we watch, pray and seek Him as we await His next coming?

"But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost." Mark 13:11.

Jesus lives in us by the Holy Ghost!

"Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is." Mark 13:33.

We don't know the time when He is coming again, so we need to be watchful and prayerful! Jesus does speak about the fig tree previous to this, and says we will know the season of the end times just like we know the seasons and cycles of the fig tree. Many great and terrible things are coming to pass in these last times which let us know that each day, we are one day closer. We can't wait another moment to dedicate our lives to God, and live for Him like He lives for us!

At the time of the last supper, Jesus explained to His disciples how they would find a room to celebrate the Passover together:

"And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us."
Mark 14:14‭-‬15.

They were to enter into this certain house...into a certain guestchamber. I found significance in this because this upper guestchamber area which they'd sit in together for the Passover would later be the same upper room where the 120 would receive the Holy Ghost Jesus spoke about earlier! It would go from a guestchamber to a somewhat of a bridechamber-where Jesus would fill people with His Spirit in order to become part of the Bride of Christ (having repented & being baptized as well!). Again, as we remember the sobering time that this last supper was, we can also see the new life which would come from the suffering-because Jesus lives! He never passes away...and He wants to live IN US!

"And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven." Mark 14:60‭-‬62.

Directly after Jesus makes this statement to the high priest at His trial, the high priest rants his clothes & says it is blasphemy. Jesus then became severely abused by those in the crowd surrounding Him. How sad it is to not be able to recognize our Savior! We must learn about Jesus and love Him through His Word in order to understand who He is and when He will be coming again. We are not doing this to avoid hell; we are doing this to have a beautiful relationship with the Lover of our souls!

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."
