Jesus will change things up!

Based on Mark 1-2, Psalm 62

Our world is constantly changing, right? So why not have things change for the better? It can't be guaranteed that we'll be satisfied by the world. In fact, we won't be satisfied by the world...and that's why Jesus entered this world! The question is, will He enter our hearts?

"And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost." Mark 1:7‭-‬8

John the Baptist was already doing things radically different than people were used to, and he was ordained of God. But he spoke of One who would take things to an even deeper level & dimension...Jesus Christ! Besides water baptism, we need the Holy Ghost! Jesus knew we not only needed to be washed of old things, but filled with something NEW! How refreshing it is to change things up!

"Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men."
Mark 1:16-17

Jesus had a plan to use those fisherman skills beyond the norm-He wanted them to fish for souls! To bring people to God! The more we follow Jesus, the more we realize we are not following Him around in circles on the earth, but we are spiritually preparing for a heavenly destination! Something supernatural! Something ETERNAL! So of course, Jesus needs to change up our perspective & way of thinking to keep us focused on that life instead of this life.

"And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes." Mark 1:21‭-‬22

No one teaches like Jesus! Such authority, such power...they were astonished! It's always important to keep a sense of awe and adoration to our God. What He does is not ordinary. We can't expect God to come short of our expectations...He will always exceed, or give us something totally different that we never knew we needed!

"Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion." Mark 2:9‭-‬12

In order to be whole, we can't just be physically healed. We need to be forgiven & released from spiritual bondage as well! The people never saw it on that fashion before! God's always going to do something new, and He wants it to be done in us! That inner change is more rewarding than any outer miracle, because our whole life becomes a walking miracle! A testimony! A relationship with God which says, "What's God going to do next?" :)

"Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah." Psalms 62:8
