Journey to the Dream

Reading of the Day: Genesis 37-39

Genesis 39:2: And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

Did you ever have a dream or a goal, but the road leading to that dream destination was not all you "dreamed" it would be? So did Joseph! He soon realized that the dream he was given would look a whole lot more like a nightmare before the dream was actually fulfilled...but the amazing thing about Joseph was that he stayed the course! He kept going and stayed faithful to The Lord while doing so...and no matter where he found himself, he was that much closer to his dream! He had a dream that one day his brothers would bow down & serve him, and he told his brothers this. While he may have spoken too soon & maybe should have stayed quiet for a bit about the dream which was revealed to him, Joseph remained loyal and faithful to God in the events to follow, which would include his brothers throwing him in a pit & selling him off to Egypt. They even took Joseph's special gift from his father, his coat of many colors, and killed a goat to stain it with blood so their father thought Joseph was killed. But even without that coat of many colors, Joseph's true colors of love, loyalty & faithfulnes shined through no matter what! As the above Scripture states, The Lord was with him, even in the faraway land of Egypt...away from his family, in a place which did not know God. But Joseph made God known to them. He worked diligently. He used good wisdom & judgment. He did not sin even when he was tempted to. His gift of interpreting dreams would eventually give him the ability to help Egypt, and even his family, during a famine...and his brothers would finally bow in reverence & love. Even though we have not yet gotten to this part where the dream is fulfilled, it's just interesting to see that a journey so tragic and unfair would somehow, some way, lead Joseph to his dream! By following God through the pit, prison & finally to the palace, Joseph would see that dream fulfilled in a way he never dreamed of! So, be encouraged! The journey to the dream may not be glamorous...in fact, it may be clamorous, crazy, chaotic & uncomfortable. But just know that as we pray & seek God, we will come through those times stronger and more prepared for the fulfillment of our own dreams! Let's stay the course! Let's not lose hope, lose sight of our dreams or think that there is nothing good in store for us. The journey to the dream is not as difficult as it seems with Jesus!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
