Keep Moving Forward!
Based on Deuteronomy 1-3
This is a time of uncertainty. In fact, immobilized uncertainty. There is not much to do but sit & wait for all this to pass, in hopes we do not become infected. Or is there something we can do? While the term "keep moving forward" may seem contradictory at this time, we actually can! We can keep moving forward with GOD! God gives us hope to keep going, even if that means going about each day at home.
"For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing." Deuteronomy 2:7.
The Lord was always with the Israelites, no matter what they were facing. They were in the wilderness from their own doing, yet God was there! And even in the time of uncertainty and wandering, they could keep moving forward in God. Until the cloud moved, they stayed put. When the cloud moved, they moved with it. Either way, God was their Leader. It's the same today! Sometimes we can move, but sometimes we have to wait. But that doesn't mean panic! It means God is doing something!
"A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the Lord destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead: As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day:" Deuteronomy 2:21-22.
Throughout Scripture, The Lord reminds the people of their successes & victories. And these victories are not just theirs, but God's! God fights for us in these situations. He is here to remind us that we once got through a battle with Him, and we can most definitely do it again! WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS!
"Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee."
Deuteronomy 2:24-25.
You may rise up in the morning & feel unaccomplished, but when your feet hit the floor after some time in prayer, you're moving forward! You're making progress! Rise up! Take your journey with God. Realize that especially at this time, only HE is in control! Your enemies will tremble when we plead the Blood. This disease will tremble when we plead the Blood!
Soon in our reading, the Israelites will face Jericho to obtain their promised land. Moses was used by God to remind them of where they came from in order to prepare them for where they will go. God gave them encouragement, and He has that same encouragement for YOU today!
"And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many."
Deuteronomy 3:4-5.
No matter how difficult the situation, we have a victorious God! But we have to trust Him!! He is literally saying the walls of Jericho would fall-no need to worry!
"And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the Lord your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the Lord do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest. Ye shall not fear them: for the Lord your God he shall fight for you."
Deuteronomy 3:21-22.
HE IS FIGHTING FOR US RIGHT NOW SO WE CAN MOVE FORWARD! Every step counts!
"The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:" Deuteronomy 1:6.
"Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward." Deuteronomy 2:3.
This too shall pass. There will come a time when The Lord will say it's been long enough. But for now, when we can't move too far with our feet, move forward in faith. In trust. It's proven in His Word: JESUS WILL GET US THROUGH!!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
