King of kings

Based on 2 Chronicles 32-33, John 18:19-40

Our goal in life is usually to "have it all together," or at least make it seem like we do! But when we forget God in this process of "making it," we end up hurting ourselves. No power or strength is higher than our God, no matter how much we practice, study or workout! He is the King above all "kings." He is King above our own prestige. If we honor Him, He will bring us to the place we need to be, even if it's not where we were striving to be...but we have to be humble & accept that!

"with him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah." 2 Chronicles 32:8

King Hezekiah was one of the great kings-but he knew that God was greater! The arm of man can only do so much...but God goes forth to fight for us! We can find rest in this, just like the people did in Hezekiah's time. He is the same King & God today as He was then! No matter how much the "kings" of this world have developed & changed, He is still stronger than man! We must trust Him!

"And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, and prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he was God." 2 Chronicles 33:12‭-‬13

King Manasseh came to a humble point after forgetting God and serving idols...no matter if you have a good reputation like Hezekiah or a bad reputation like Manasseh, humility under the authority of God gets you back under the power of the Almighty King! God restored Manasseh in his time of humility & brokenness, and He will restore us as long as we take control out of our hands!

"Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." John 18:36‭-‬37

The wonders of God cannot be denied! Jesus' Kingdom is something far greater than this world...Jesus was even shown all the kingdoms of the world when He was tempted...yet He knew that He had something better! Yes, it would have been great to have all those kingdoms...but not for the purpose of prestige, but for the purpose of winning the people to The Lord...but Jesus knew the humble position He had to be put under to be the ultimate King, yet the ultimate Sacrifice...that's true love, and that's true Kingship!
