Knowing is Loving

Bible Reading 11/28: 1 Corinthians 7-9

1 Corinthians 8:3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

In a relationship, ignorance is not bliss. The more we know each other, the happier we are, and the more in love we feel. Every new thing we learn about the person we love is another open door of possibilities on how we can love and connect more deeply. Imagine dating for a couple months only knowing that person's favorite color...never asking, "What's your favorite restaurant? Vacation spot? Hobby?" The limitation of knowledge in the relationship really inhibits the depth of connection! The same is true between us and God. God knows those who truly love Him. When we truly love, we don't say, "Ok, I know all I need to know about you. I'll stop here. The connection is good enough on my end!" When we truly love, we say, "I know I've read that verse a thousand times, but I can't wait to see what The Lord has to teach me today! I know I may have my end of the relationship, but God wants a relationship with no end! Lord, show me verses I've avoided and ways to experience you that I have not noticed or accepted yet...in Jesus' Name!"

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
