Lanterns Away!
Based on Psalms 105-106, 1 Corinthians 3
"He spread a cloud for a covering; And fire to give light in the night." Psalm 105:39
In this Psalm, there is much remembrance of God's past protection & provision. Not only was He a cloud covering by day, but a fire to guide by night! It reminded me of those lantern festivals where the lights float up to the sky...the flame is not exposed! There is a covering around it, and the end result is beautiful! We can be like those covered lanterns, going up & away to Heaven someday! We need to embrace the beauty not only of the flame, but of the covering!
"And he brought forth his people with joy, And his chosen with gladness: And gave them the lands of the heathen: And they inherited the labour of the people; That they might observe his statutes, And keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD." Psalm 105:43-45
Between Psalms 105-106, there is a lot of back & forth with God's people. The minute they are safe, they don't want the covering & guidance anymore. But the minute they are without it, trouble comes & they want to be those covered flames once again. God is the covering! God is the fire! If we force Him out of our lives, we are in darkness, and no longer lanterns on a mission to Heaven! We can't extinguish God! We can't allow other things to lead us in the wrong direction! But yet, through all the back & forth, God brings forth His people with joy...how merciful is He to recover & rekindle the fire!
"Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, When he heard their cry: And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies. He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives."
Psalm 106:44-46
Nevertheless, He makes us lanterns again! Fueled by His fire & covered by His cloud of protection! Day or night, He gives us hope. He makes a way where there seems to be none! Until we become lanterns, we will never see the way...
Let's light up the sky, letting His light shine through us, and His covering protect us! We can't be an exposed flame, or a covering without a light! We need all of God in our lives!
"but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." 1 John 1:7

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
