Let peace begin with me.
"Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another." Romans 14:19. It's a simple statement, yet one that's just as easily misunderstood as it is understood! The reason is because there's no "if, then."
There's no list of things that we need to confirm which would allow us to show peace & be civil-we must follow peace & lift each other up, no matter what! Even if we feel the other person may be undeserving. Even if we feel unrest in that moment. We are not to cause war around us. We are to cause peace!
We can't bring peace to the peaceful! It is in those hard situations that we truly let our peaceful light shine. Think about the beauty of brightening someone's day, rather than planning how you're going to let your anger out at them for hurting you. Peace benefits most in the long run! And anyway, God will be sure they understand how they've hurt you:
"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." Romans 12:19.
God takes care of us from all sides the devil tries to attack us from! So bring peace to everyone, knowing He has your back. 💕
