Let's get Rooted!

Based on Jeremiah 16-17, Psalm 113

"7: Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
8: For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
9: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:7-9.

The heart has so many veins, arteries & capillaries. It branches out & extends throughout the whole body. And just like a tree with its roots which extend out under the land, our heart needs to be rooted & grounded in God! Every part of our being, down to the smallest capillary, needs to be attached to The Lord! We need to be rooted all the way, or we will die spiritually!

"10: I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." Jeremiah 17:10.

If our heart's not wholly given to God, we will be weak in the trial. We can't let our hearts deceive us into thinking something else is better! God will try the reins. He created each vein. He knows when the fruit of our doings has been done in vain! Stay rooted in God to truly grow & prosper!

"12: And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
13: Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour." Jeremiah 16:12-13.

If we go after imaginations & dreams that are not based in God and not led by the Spirit and godly counsel, we will find ourselves lost. No roots means no way. The best thing we can do is root ourselves in Jesus...HE IS THE WAY! Bloom where Jesus plants you! Prosper as your soul prospers! Sometimes, it's safe to stay where you're at. When God gives the signal, then it's safe to move. Get rooted & established in The Word of God, and you're sure to grow upwards!

"7: He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;" Psalm 113:7.

In humbly lowering ourselves into good soil, being rooted in The Word, God will then raise us up! A seed looks defeated when it's buried in the ground, but actually, that's just the beginning! When we die to ourselves & bury that sinful life in baptism, we are preparing for a new life with Jesus, breathing in the new breath of the Holy Ghost! He pulls us out of our filth and into a life of faith. Each day rooted in God is a day we grow in a new life of victory! Get rooted. Get grounded. Get fulfilled!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
