Living Sacrifice

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Leviticus 21-22, Matthew 28

"Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the Lord for a burnt offering; Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats."
Leviticus 22:18‭-‬19

Sacrifice was always required in the Old Testament, but it didn't stop in the New Testament, even until this day! While it is true that animal sacrifices are no longer required, those sacrifices were leading up to something much greater: living sacrifices! Jesus was the first Living Sacrifice in rising from the dead, and now we must do the same! It's always good to check ourselves to see what we can remove so we can move closer to Christ!

Every time exercise takes place in the physical body, we are choosing to endure pain now to enjoy being fit later. If we are willing to do so many things in the physical, we sure can make sacrifices in our soul to be closer to The One who gave it all for us! Just like eating kale over chocolate, we need the nourishment of The Word of Truth over the fluffed up lies of this world!

"And when ye will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it at your own will." Leviticus 22:29.

No one forces us to exercise or eat healthy. It's a personal choice. In personal devotion to God, we must give thanks through our soulful, Spiritual sacrifices which build our character! We will see the benefits in eternity, and the blessings here on earth! And the greatest one being a loving relationship with Jesus! He never fails us! Sacrifice is truly the greatest blessing.

"And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you."
Matthew 28:5‭-‬7

Jesus IS ALIVE! THE ULTIMATE LIVING SACRIFICE! We must live for Him!

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
Romans 12:1

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
