Look Out!

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Ezekiel 19-22

It's definitely already been a common theme in this book to withhold our eyes from things which could draw us away from God-we must look out, look away & look to God if we are ever going to find our way out of this world & into eternity! We can't walk blindly, but we can pray for our eyes to be directed toward the spiritual things.

"But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt." Ezekiel 20:8-9.

Going deeper into this study of where we set our sights, it's important to remember who sees US! Not only could the things ee choose to view potentially affect us negatively and change our character, but those who see us live our lives (like the heathen people mentioned above) will be drawn further astray the further we draw away from God! God doesn't want to be polluted or despised by His people, or even the heathen, who are not trying to serve Him at all! God wants ALL to come to Him eventually...why not now!?

"Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness." Ezekiel 20:17.

Even in the seclusion of the wilderness, where no others were watching, God's eye spared His people! At this point God was pleasing with them, and of course there was still a judgment, but He did not completely destroy His people...face it, they were already destroying themselves with the things they were getting involved in. Remember, God's eyesight is EVERYWHERE! He sees us. Other people see us. We need to look out!

"I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen." Ezekiel 20:41.

God wanted His people to willingly set their eyes back upon Him. He desired to bring them back together in unity that they would be sanctified before the heathen. God continuously speaks this to Ezekiel-God really wanted to wicked heathen people to see the power of God just as much as He wanted His own people to see & believe!

"Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them." Ezekiel 22:26.

We can't open our eyes to lies and close our eyes to THE TRUTH! We need to be watchful. Mindful. On the look out. Standing guard defending GOD in this day & hour! As has been mentioned recently, when our eyes are captured, our hearts are pretty much captured, and our love is stolen from God. All He wants is a heart-felt commitment! Let's be on the look out!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
