Look Up!

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Isaiah 50-52, 1 Thessalonians 5

"Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him." Isaiah 51:2

Without even noticing it, we can spend a lot of time in "give up" mode. Looking down & not looking up...maybe we just need someone like Isaiah to say, "Look! It's going to be ok!" God has blessed us before. He has cared for us before. And He will do it again! Isaiah gives the example of Abraham & Sarah. Abraham was called, blessed & increased by God because he had great faith. And he looked & listened to God! We must look up again!

"Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished." Isaiah 51:6

Look up to the heavens & not down toward the problems & struggles of the moment! If we lift it all up to God first, then we realize how much bigger God is than our problems & struggles! All of that will fade away...but when we are saved through repentance & baptism of water & Spirit, then that will last forever! Keep looking UP!

"Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion." Isaiah 52:8

"let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." 1 Thessalonians 5:6

We must be as watchmen & watch women! Watching & waiting in prayer, not allowing for a "give up" mode, but a "give it up to God" mode! Our eyes fixed & focused on God will bring more joy than this world will ever bring...so keep looking up!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
