Magnifying God

Reading of the Day 6/17/25: Psalms 24-26

Psalms 25:17: The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

No matter how hard we try to avoid them, problems arise...and they usually don't exist with us peacefully. Instead, they are on the forefront of our minds & hearts until they are solved...only to make room for more! In this vicious cycle, we begin to magnify our problems. We begin to make them seem like they are bigger than God's ability to solve them! In doing this, we are almost to the point of worshipping them as an idol! And I know that seems a little far-fetched, but think about it..."worship" is something we do which gives all our focus & attention to someone or something...and the One we should worship is God alone! Our problems, no matter how giant they seem, should never consume us so much that God becomes out of view! The song, "That's The Thing About Praise" by Benjamin William Hastings & Blessing Offor says, "It don't always fix your problems, but it'll tell ya how small they are, That's the thing about praise." Praise to God may not fix everything instantaneously, but it will surely put everything in perspective! When God is magnified, our problems shrink back down to where they should be! God will help us solve our problems, but even before that, He helps us to trust Him even when the answer hasn't come yet! He gives us peace & patience before the problem-solving! Another song called "Praise" by Elevation Worship says, "Praise is the water my enemies drown in." Any problem, enemy, worry or fear will be drowned out in our praise, worship & magnification of God:

1 John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."
