Making the Cut

Based on Jeremiah 43-45, Hebrews 5

"Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah." Jeremiah 44:11

Although there would later be a remnant left, God had to cut off much of the house of Judah for not only entering into Egypt, but turning to & worshipping their gods. They chose to be included in the wrath that Egypt already had coming to them...they were cut off...they did not "make the cut" of sticking together as a united people for The Lord! Our goal should be to "make the cut" instead of getting "cut off." We should be determined to serve God with our whole heart, not a heart that's ready to run toward every new trend that makes its way to our line of sight...

"and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;" Hebrews 5:9

Jesus allows us to make the cut into eternal life! By going through the pattern of repentance, baptism & receiving the Holy Ghost, we take the necessary steps into a relationship & walk with Jesus. We then must be sure to purpose ourselves to live out His living Word, growing more each & every day!

"For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." Hebrews 5:13‭-‬14

This enhanced discernment comes through exercising our use & application of God's Word! With the application of His Way of salvation, His Word & Prayer, we have the ability to make the cut! We will easily know the difference between good & evil-that discernment being the key to fight off deception!
