Marvellously Helped
Reading of the Day 5/11/25: 2 Chronicles 24-26
2 Chronicles 26:15: And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
If we didn't need help, would we need God? That is a deep question to ask in order to check our motives & our heart posture! Do we only go to God when we are in need of something, or are we in constant connection with our Creator? King Uzziah understood that God was The Great Provider, and as the above Scripture states, he was marvellously helped. He won victories and built towers & wells in the desert. He also was blessed with the provisions to build these above-mentioned engines for defense against the enemy, which must have seemed pretty high-tech at the time! So, again, we see how king Uzziah was so marvellously helped! But at the end of this Scripture, it says, "till he was strong." And that is the beginning of his downfall! His strength was the beginning of his weakness, to be honest! Because the next Scripture says, 2 Chronicles 26:16: "But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense." Sadly, after receiving help from God, he took it upon himself, in his pride, to take over the priests' job. In doing so, he got leprosy and remained that way until he died. He thought he was strong enough to make decisions without inquiring of The Lord first! He thought it was his own power and greatness which could now get him through! He thought that God would approve of anything he did just because he was successful in the past...but he forgot that God was the reason for his success, not his own self! When we are marvellously helped, we cannot allow ourselves to become so strong that we become strong-willed, thinking we can do it without God! God does not want us to stay in a state of weakness, but He wants us to be strengthened without losing our reliance upon Him as the Highest Power! Because no matter how strong we are, we will never be stronger than God! We cannot lose our reliance upon God and need for His help on a daily basis! We must accept His strength while also remembering our fleshly weakness! Even if we think we don't need help, we always need God! And thankfully, we are not just helped, but marvellously helped, all the time! It's more about loving Who He is than what He does for us...and when we love Who He is, our connection with our Creator will stay strong, but we will not be strong-willed! We will be ready to say, "...not my will, but thine, be done." (Luke 22:42).

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle

It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
