More than a Bandaid

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Jeremiah 6-8, I Timothy 5

"They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace."

Jeremiah 6:14

If the world is really great at one thing, it's putting bandaids on problems. Pacifying temporarily is easier than finding solutions. Now that's not to say that's all bad in the meantime, but if no solution is being sought out, and bandaids keep being layered on top of each other, then all we're really doing is securing our problems more firmly in place, with no way of escape! We have only slightly healed the hurt when we say, "Peace" "It's ok" when things are really NOT ok. There is no peace. The world is hurting, and it needs more than our words to fix it!

"Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these."

Jeremiah 7:4

Don't give in to lies! Don't give into false senses of hope & security! A bandaid can be a mask or disguise! It can make us think we are healing, when we're really not. Praying will allow God to lead us to His temple of Truth. His true Body & church. Many people will try to re-define God, His Truth, and what His church is supused to look like, all to make our lives seem "easier." Again, we don't need anymore bandaids! We need JESUS!

"Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit." Jeremiah 7:8

"but this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward." Jeremiah 7:23‭-‬24

False peace, hope & love presented to us through temporary worldly satisfaction does not allow us to be well again. Obeying the Voice of The Lord allows us to be well again! Instead of covering up our problems, they get solved! We go forward, not backward, buried under bandaids! Keep Jesus first, and you'll never be last!

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
