Not a time to Compromise!

It must have been hard for Moses & Aaron to knowingly endure the hardness of Pharaoh's heart day in & day out, but honestly, that's just part of the mission! Remember, anything we set our minds to that is of any value requires time, effort & sacrifice. Sure, it could be easy to compromise. To settle for less in order to stop working so hard. But that never brings us to a place of true fulfillment! And remember, in Moses' and Aaron's case, the point of leaving Egypt was for ALL Hebrews to be free to SACRIFICE to God. Compromising would not allow God's plan to fully take shape in their lives:

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him: And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord."
Exodus 10:1‭-‬2.

The point was for ALL the signs to be shown to the Egyptians which God required. If Moses stopped short and didn't complete the mission, they would not have a complete story to pass down to their children...and they probably would have never left Egypt! There were 2 specific instances where compromise could have taken place:

"And he said unto them, Let the Lord be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you. Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the Lord; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence." Exodus 10:10‭-‬11.

Pharaoh said he will let only the men go to serve The Lord. I know before I mentioned that it's good to rejoice over any little progress made, which is true, but it was wise of Moses not to compromise & accept that offer. They were getting somewhere, but they weren't there yet! So, Moses obeyed God and allowed a plague of locusts to cover Egypt. Remember, ALL the Hebrews must be freed, not just the men!

"And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord ; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you. And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God."
Exodus 10:24‭-‬25.

The next temptation to compromise came against the sacrifice unto God. Pharaoh was willing to let the people go, but leave the flocks & herds behind. Almost! But not quite! ALL must go, and ALL must have a means to sacrifice! This led to the Hebrews spoiling the Egyptians & the last and worst plague of all: the death of the firstborn.

In order to allow God to pass over a household so the firstborn wouldn't die, a sacrifice of lamb's blood had to be spread upon the door posts:

"And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever." Exodus 12:13‭-‬14.

The only firstborn children & cattle that died were in Egypt. In the place where there was no obedience to God. In the place where there wasn't only compromise, but no regard for Gid whatsoever. Remember, way in the beginning, this death was first decreed upon the Hebrew firstborn by Pharaoh-remember how we talked about vengeance being The Lord's?

Did you know we can still plead the Blood of Jesus, our sacrificial Lamb, upon our homes & families today? We can pray for His protection and His help to stay away from a sinful, displeasing life and for His guidance as we walk in a life of abundance and blessing as we live a life which pleases God! Don't take the road of compromise!

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" 2 Timothy 4:7.
