Not Enough

Bible Reading 12/2: 2 Corinthians 3-5

2 Corinthians 3:5: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

We are not enough. I know this is a contrary statement to the "take on the world" mentality that society gives us. We are told we've got what it takes to do anything we want in life...in short, it's true in a sense that we can sure give anything a try. But it's false if we want to create a reputation of success! In our own power, we have the ability to take all the risks we want...but there is no guarantee we will succeed! But with God's power, we will succeed! We are not enough, but He is. We are not sufficient, but He is. Our self-worth does not come from anything we do...it comes from GOD! He created us to do special things. He does not want us to feel worthless just because we need to depend on Him-in fact, it's just the opposite! He wants us to feel worth it by depending on Him! Society's false hope will fail us, but God's Truth will keep us! It was so wonderfully stated in our church service today during our baby dedication: "Without God, us parents don't have what it takes. But with God, we have what it takes!" We will always feel inadequate without God, but when we realize we serve a God Who wants us to win and not be defeated, to flourish and not fail, then we are victorious...even though we are not enough. Another aptly put statement from today's service: "There is a God-sized void only He can fill." He created us to be unfinished without Him! If we accept that and accept Him, we will be whole...because HE IS ENOUGH.

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
