Nothing but the Truth!
"And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him." Genesis 21:1-2. SPOLIER ALERT: THE PROMISE IS HERE! Sarah FINALLY had her child, and this would lead to Abraham & Sarah birthing many nations, just as God spoke to them from the beginning. All along, Abraham & Sarah should have held to God's Word as Truth. He will always make a way when there seems to be no way, as it says in Isaiah. This still holds true for us today! Even when there are no results and nothing is adding up, we can trust in God.
Honesty is the best policy, as they say. God allowed Abraham & Sarah to be husband & wife. But Abraham became fearful every time they'd travel to a new land that someone would take his wife for her beauty. So, before the promise came, Abraham yet again trusted in something other than Truth, other than God. "And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife."
Genesis 20:2-3. Well, let's just say this was half the truth because Sarah was Abraham's half-sister as well as his wife (normal in those days). But still! This wasn't the first time Abraham had done this, and EVERY time the men which almost took Sarah regretted the decision. This time, God intervened directly to Abimilech about the situation.
Moral of all this? Trust God's plans. Don't let fears and lies get in the way. Accept nothing but the Truth. And what IS Truth? God's Word! Clearly we can see that God's plans unfold and come to pass more than our own. In this reading there is also the story of the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah. This was a city which displeased God to the MAX. They did not even try to listen to Truth. They did wicked and evil things, and God destroyed all but Abraham's nephew Lot and his 2 daughters because Abraham pleaded in prayer for them. Lot's wife turned to a pillar of salt after looking back to the sinful city. Now we can see that no people are perfect, but God's plan always is. Stick with nothing but the Truth!

Surviving the Peace Plummet
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...
A Moment of Silence.
As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
The Heart of the Struggle
Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
