Oh Come, All Ye Faithful!

Based on Haggai 1-2, Revelation 17

"Then spake Haggai the LORD's messenger in the LORD's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD. And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,"

Haggai 1:13‭-‬14

The book of Haggai starts of talking about how the House of The Lord is laid waste. The houses of the people are tended to, but the House of The Lord was left behind...but God spoke through Haggai to remind the people of what (and Who) they had forgotten! God even stirred up the spirit of His people, and they came to work together on the House of God once again. Do we need a good stirring this time of year? We've all heard the saying, "Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse..." but how about those church mice!? We CAN be those faithful few who come back to the pew! Let's come BACK, all ye faithful!

"These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of Lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful." Revelation 17:14

When we want the calling, and we want the choosing, we must show ourselves faithful! "Oh come ye, o come ye, to Bethlehem..." the song sings...but we should be able to faithfully say, "Oh come ye, oh come ye to church!" If you are sick, or far away, and need to watch online, that's understood, but if you can be there, that's the best! It's the most moving experience as the Body of Christ gathers together. This time of gathering builds faith, just like the people spoken of in Haggai gathered to build The House of God back up!
