Oh, Holy Night

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Micah 6-7, Revelation 13

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

Micah 6:8

Justice. Mercy. Humility...and ultimately, Holiness...God doesn't require us to be like anyone or anything else but Him! He provides us with these ways to live because this is how HE lives! The beasts presented in Revelation were worshipped by those who didn't get to know Jesus personally...and they didn't bring anything promising or good...but God doesn't require us to do anything or be anything which He wouldn't, although we know He is able to do so much more for us than we could ever imagine! Even when He came as a Babe, it was a HOLY night. Not just a beautiful night. Not just a miraculous night. But a night filled with the realization of Who this child was-Just. Merciful. Humble. Holy...

"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me." Micah 7:8

He still IS the Light of the world. He is still the solution to every unjust thing, every inconsiderate thing, every prideful thing...Jesus is the Answer! He is Justice. He is Mercy. He is Humility. He is HOPE...and HE IS HOLINESS!!! We can bring that same Light into this world as we let Him shine through us with these key attributes. When we receive The Holy Ghost, we receive a conviction to live a Holy Life, set apart for Him, ready to reach into the darkness and help others out of it! Let's not forget that first holy night. Let's not forget that all of these wonderful things were swaddled up in this tiny child, Our Savior, Jesus Christ-and now He wants to be swaddled up in our hearts!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
