On this very Christmas Night

Based on Jonah 1-4, Revelation 10

"Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, and said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, And he heard me; Out of the belly of hell cried I, And thou heardest my voice." Jonah 2:1‭-‬2

What were those 3 days & nights like in the belly of the big fish? All we know is, Jonah had a prayer in Jonah Chapter 2. He had a prayer which claimed God had heard his voice, and knew that this fish was prepared by God to spare him somehow. Something must come of this. Something must be born out of the depths of this fish's belly-could it be Jonah? Could he live with a greater understanding that God is the Savior of all, even Nineveh? That is the same perspective we have on this very Christmas, holy night...that through a miraculous birth, we have miraculous hope through our Miraculous Savior, Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, GOD WITH US!

"And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: and he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth," Revelation 10:1‭-‬2

God has dominion over both the sea & the land. He can cause storms, and cause the calm of the storms. He wants to save us! But His birth wasn't the only part of the salvation process-it was His death & Resurrection! We must first die to our old, sinful life in repentance, be re-born under water in Jesus' Name, & Resurrect & Rise up in newness of life when we pray & receive the Holy Ghost! Jonah came up from the depths of the sea, but unfortunately did not seem to gain that life-changing perspective that God wants to save ALL & give EVERYONE a chance at newness of life...but we can be different, especially on this very Christmas night! NEW LIFE is what HE came for! Let's keep that in reflection, and understand that Jesus is our greatest gift of all!
