Open Wounds

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Isaiah 1-2, Galatians 5

"From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment." Isaiah 1:6

Are there any unresolved issues still bugging you? It could be those very things which keep us bound in a place of negativity, rather than positivity and productivity. We could have been wounded in the past, but if those wounds are left open & untreated, infection happens. We can think we are fine by just carrying open wounds with us, but whether they be physical, emotional, spiritual or mental, they will be always be a problem to us unless we get the right treatment!

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah 1:18

The scarlet red of our sins is an open wound. It may not look that way to us, but Jesus is just waiting to cleanse, purge and heal those hurtful places in our lives! We need to allow Him to provide us with the true treatment! The washing of the Blood of Jesus in water baptism & receiving the refreshing life which the Holy Ghost brings...but we can't even start treatment without a repentant heart! The heart is the first open wound which needs to be healed by Jesus!

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." Galatians 5:22‭-‬24

When we go through this treatment process for our sinful, open wounds...when we let the past go...when we ask for forgiveness and forgive those who have hurt us...when this becomes our lifestyle...then we can experience the full benefits & fruit of the Spirit listed above! When we receive the Holy Ghost, we realize that there's no better therapy for open wounds than Jesus!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
