Our God, Our Peace, Our Refuge

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Psalm 7-9, Acts 18

"Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger." Psalm 8:2

Our God is our peace & refuge! He even allows children to be able to proclaim it! And even they can still the enemy & avenger by speaking the Truth of God! We need to be sure we study & know the Truth in God's Word, and we must teach it to our children. His Word is our true strength!

"I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High." Psalm 9:1‭-‬2

The words "I WILL" when it comes to serving God are a short, yet powerful statement! As we read through & remind ourselves of these Scriptures, and we proclaim these "I WILL" statements, we will continuously find ourselves in that place of peace & refuge with God! That's because we are approaching God's Word without hesitation! We are confident in knowing that He is there for us through it all!

"The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble."

Psalm 9:9

The Word of God is clear & profound! He is our refuge when we are oppressed. He is our refuge in times of trouble, and remembering this BEFORE the trouble comes will bring us peace! Paul found this out & practiced it directly from the Mouth of God! God always confirms His Word!

"Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: for I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city."

Acts 18:9‭-‬10

Paul did exactly this, and when he went before Gallio in court, he was in favor with him & was set free! And that's because Paul was in favor with GOD FIRST! He had an "I WILL" attitude in serving God, and held onto Him as his peace & refuge! We must do the same!

Surviving the Peace Plummet

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
