Our Lifeline

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Leviticus 16-17, Psalm 25

Like a game show, life presents us with so many situations with many possible outcomes and solutions. The question is, which one to choose? Many of these shows have lifelines which connect us with someone who knows the answer & can help us. That's exactly the purpose of the blood of each sacrifice in the Old Testament, and most importantly the ultimate sacrifice of Christ in the New Testament. The Blood is the lifeline which connects us to the One with ALL the answers! Look no further! Just look through God's Word:

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood." Leviticus 17:11‭-‬12.

The atonement wasn't in the flesh alone, or any other organ. It was in the blood! Therefore, with this significant factor in mind, God's people were instructed not to eat it. If they did, they would have complete disregard for their lifeline.

"And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust." Leviticus 17:13.

The blood was to be poured out, just like Jesus' Blood was poured out for us! With Jesus final sacrificial act on the cross, all people now have access to Jesus through the lifeline of His Blood! We can plead the Blood upon our situations, upon those who need healings, and pretty much any time life presents with those multiple choice situations in which we feel lost-Jesus makes us found!

Through baptism of water & Spirit, we take the first crucial step of closeness with Christ! This new birth by water as a symbol of the blood washing over us along with the new breath of life through God's Spirit allows us to have salvation-the eternal lifeline!

Not only was Jesus the sin offering, but He was also our scapegoat! He took our sins upon Himself, just like the scapegoat in Leviticus:

"And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:" Leviticus 16:21.

Another game show lifeline is when the host removes most the wrong answers, making the choice easier by having one wrong answer & one right answer instead of many possible wrong ones. But Jesus does this better! He removes all sin & wrong from our lives when we repent and are baptized of water & Spirit! Good thing life is more than a game show!

"Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins." Psalms 25:18.

Jesus has the power to forgive. This is the greatest lifeline because sin is the thing which separates us most from Him. We can't forget about our Lifeline! All past sacrifices point to Jesus' ultimate sacrifice. Utilize your Lifeline. Plead the Blood. Enter into new life. Cancel out all the wrong options & let Jesus be your Guide! You no longer have to stare at the multiple choices in front of you with nowhere to turn-choose Jesus!!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
