Our Safety & Our Strength

Gina Pietrzak

Based on Psalms 46-48, Acts 28

"God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1

It's amazing to think about how God is our everything...not only is He our safety & refuge, our protection...but He is also our strength, our ability to fight off attack! He is our safety, our strength, and so much more! He is present in our troubles, and is exactly Who we need in every situation! Nothing is too complex for God!

"The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: For the shields of the earth belong unto God: He is greatly exalted."

Psalm 47:9

It all belongs to Him! Every place of protection is a place provided by God! When we find shelter, we don't just "happen" upon it...it's not just coincidence!

"God is known in her palaces for a refuge."

Psalm 48:3

"Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish With an east wind." Psalm 48:7

The same God who is known as our refuge & safe place can break down ships with an east wind! He builds up, He breaks down, but either way, He is exactly what we need in every situation!

"For this God is our God for ever and ever: He will be our guide even unto death."

Psalm 48:14

He will bring us through it all! Even to the other side of death itself! Earth's promises & luxuries stop at the grave; they promise no more fulfillment than that...but God's safety and strength extends beyond the reach of time into eternity! We just have to be willing to trust Him & follow all the way!

"And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him."

Acts 28:30‭-‬31

Paul, was given comfort, safety & strength to preach even though he was still a prisoner! He had it pretty good! The people may have not liked that God was more powerful than they were, and they didn't want to accept that...but SINCE they saw all God was capable of, they HAD to experience Him for themselves! The same power that caused people to imprison Paul was the same power which caused people to be attracted to him! When you get a taste of God, and all His amazing attributes & characteristics, you can't help but be drawn closer! He is our refuge, our safety, yet also our strength! He is our offense & defense! He shields & equips us! He not only makes us ready for our daily battles, but ready for Heaven!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...
