Out of Darkness

Based on Exodus 10-12

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:" Exodus 10:21‭-‬22

The intensity of darkness is something which is very real, so much so that it can even be felt, as in the Egyptians' case. In this plague, the Egyptians experienced a thick darkness for 3 days with no light & no ability to see anything...but the Israelites had light and were not affected by this plague at all. The tables were truly turned! The Israelites experienced their dark times already at the hand of the Egyptians, and now the Egyptians finally had a taste of what it was like to go through some hard, dark times. No matter who we are, we've been there. Stressed out. Alone. Not knowing where to turn. Feeling the pressure around us, but not knowing when it will end...the Israelites found their light. They found their hope in God, and they could keep peace in this plague.

"and the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians."

Exodus 12:36

Finally, after all the plagues ending with the death of the firstborn of the Egyptians, the Israelites were on their way out! Out of darkness, into His marvelous light! Into brighter times, and into God's favor & protection. No matter how dark the night, there's always joy in the morning! Don't let the darkness render you helpless. Don't let it cause a blindness to the things of God. Search for God during the dark times. Calling out His Name in the darkness will never leave us hopeless!

"And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt. It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations." Exodus 12:41‭-‬42

A night to be much observed. A night to be remembered. After 430 years...The Passover! What seemed like a neverending night of darkness & strife ended in a night of newness of life! New hope. New joy. New opportunity. Don't worry...with God, your Light will come in the night!
