OVERTAKEN
Based on Exodus 14-15, Matthew 17
"The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters." Exodus 15:9-10.
Overtaken. Overwhelmed. Does it just feel like it's time to say, "Ok problem, you win!" ??
If that's how you feel, then you're not alone! I too sometimes want to just throw in the towel on top of the rest of the laundry pile & call it a day...but with God, there is no such thing as defeat! When we are overtaken by daily life, we need to be overwhelmed in God's presence!
"And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord , which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:13-14.
Don't fight with others, fight through your battles with God! Don't stress yourself out trying to keep the peace...hold your peace by holding Jesus close! It may take a lot of reminding-hey, it did for the Israelites! But in almost being overtaken by Pharaoh, they went forward with God and He made the impossible happen!
"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matthew 17:20.
Believe what God says!! Don't be overtaken by your problems, be overtaken by GOD!!
