Overthinking

Reading of the Day: Psalms 93-95

Psalm 94:19: In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

Thoughts are invisible, yet they are so present that they have the ability to direct the course of the day, similar to the wind behind the sails of a ship. Thoughts direct our feelings, our actions, everything...in reality, the seen is only possible because of the unseen. The unseen, eternal God caused our tangible world to come into existence, and our unseen thoughts can cause even us humans to create some pretty amazing things...because our Creator created beings who also love to create! But just like a machine in overdrive, our mind can overthink. A machine is created for a great purpose, but pushing it to work harder and "over perform" does not produce a better product...in fact, it ends up doing the opposite of what it was created for! And it's the same with our minds! Overthinking does not cause us to work/perform better! It only causes worry, fear & anxiety. It causes us to think of all the "what ifs" and try to plan for every possible outcome...but that's not what we were created for! We were created to think. Be innovative. Create. But we were also created to trust God! Overthinking draws us into a realm we should keep ourselves restricted from! The "what if" territory of our minds should be left to God alone! That's the way we trust God, depend on Him and grow our relationship with Him! Overthinking overrides our purpose and takes too much control into our own hands! Be overjoyed by deciding to not overthink & trusting in God! As the Scripture states, in the multitude of our thoughts within us His comforts will delight our soul!

Peacefulness is the toughest muscle there is, and exercising it only makes it stronger. However, it proves to be the most difficult to keep toned & honed consistently in our lives. Peacefulness is like that one workout that you know is going to take the most time...

A Moment of Silence.

As was powerfully preached this past Wednesday, "Let there be light" were the first words spoken by God in Genesis 1:3... And He wasn't necessarily speaking about a physical manifestation... But a Spiritual one. Knowing that creation Would mean redemption. It would mean... Heaven needs to touch earth... Light would need to pierce the veil of darkness... The process of creating was ongoing... All the way to the point of creating in us clean hearts (Psalm 51:10) by being born again of water &...

The Heart of the Struggle

Focus Scripture: But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Luke 2:19 Hello again! It's been about 4 months since I've stepped back into this space, and I have to say, I am taking very gentle steps. It's been on my heart so much to write again, but I am treading lightly. I may not post every day, unless God leads me there again...but for now, I am just moving forward in God's grace. I have some blog ideas stored up that I've been saving over time as I reflect upon His...
