Peace in the Unknown

Reading of the Day: Deuteronomy 28-30

Deuteronomy 29:29: The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

There are some things we are just not meant to know. There are some times in our walk with God where "ignorance is bliss" or "ignorance is innocence." Now I know some may beg to differ, but I am not at all saying to be willingly ignorant. If God wants us to know something, He has layed it out for us in His Word! His Word is the Truth that was meant to be revealed to us in order for us to follow Him closely...but God, the Creator of the world & Author of The Word, knows so much more beyond the pages! When we find ourselves in a situation where things are unknown or uncertain, we can look to Scripture & let God handle the rest! We must only do what we know to do & then trust Him to lead us through. Faith & trust would not be needed if we were meant to know everything! We are meant to know God, but we are not meant to know everything God knows! That is a burden too great for us to bear. As the above Scripture states, in a paraphrased way, "the secret things belong to Him, and all else is revealed to us and to our children through His words of his law." We cannot worry when we can't see the end of the story from the perspective of the chapter we are in. Going further on in this passage, it states: Deuteronomy 30:11-14: "For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it." We have all the answers right in front of us! And after that, we need to have faith! In this way, we can have peace in the unknown. Whatever challenge, sickness, struggle or hardship we are facing, God is the peace in our storm. I most definitely need to meditate on this one day in & day out. The unknown can sometimes be worse than a yes or no answer, but God has His reasons & God has His Word...trust in Him & have peace in the unknown!
